David McCubbin

With degrees in Fine Arts and Landscape Architecture from Melbourne University, David McCubbin's wry social observations and historical references demonstrate a passion for the physical realm

Architecture, literature and design fuse together in his eclectic art practice - a culmination of his passion for ecology and the environment. His architectural drawings, rural landscapes and seascapes reveal a depth and breadth of cultural knowledge, partly due to an artistic pedigree - David’s great-grandfather was the celebrated artist Frederick McCubbin - he is a custodian of the Melbourne art scene from the 1890’s through to the post-war era explosion of modernism, and contemporary art culture. David specializes in painting commissions of historical, rural and agricultural landholdings, for those who wish to record a moment in time, for posterity.
