Sally Joubert
Mixing urban streetscapes and familiar achitectural iconography, Sally Joubert has re-imagined the urban landscape in her own distinctive style. Featuring her trademark thick strokes and deft use of the palette knife, the artist almost carves the lines onto the canvas. Joubert manages to inject fresh, immediate, and vibrant doses of colour that gives her work its unique vitality.

Sally Joubert was born in Melbourne and studied graphic design at Swinburne from 1978-1980.

From 1983-85 she travelled to Europe and Japan working as a graphic designer in London. During this time she spent four months in Florence where she began her painting career. After 10 years of sell out solo exhibitions in Melbourne and Sydney, Sally
lived for a year in New York City where she well and truly soaked up 'de atmosphere' that has inspired many of her paintings.
