METRO 5 ART PRIZE FINALIST 2007 Jack Pemble’s current works are raw, edgy paintings that trace his daily experiences onto the canvas. A concoction of shadows, faces and imagined visions, his works explore his immediate environment and the people within it. Pemble’s use of patchy pastel shades is contrasted by heavy black and blue lines, all of which drip and intermingle on the surface. Twenty-one year old Jack Pemble lives and works in Brisbane. He studied Fine Art briefly before beginning to exhibit his work in 2006. In 2007 he was the youngest Finalist in the Metro 5 Prize. Pemble is currently studying at the Queensland College of Art.
