Naomi White
Naomi White draws inspiration from her immediate environment and specific locations which she visits for the purpose of painting. Focusing on elements of light and form White’s stylized realist paintings render eye catching and instantaneous moments which are explored on a deeper level via the medium of oil paint.
WYNNE LANDSCAPE PRIZE FINALIST 2008

White’s recent work draws inspiration from the artist’s local environment in Brisbane and beyond. White’s paintings have an alluring natural feel. Overhanging canopies and mingling branches envelope the canvas surfaces yet the vistas retain an openness that draws the viewer into the fine details of mottled bark, crisp green foliage and tangled undergrowth. White enjoys painting on a large scale because it allows her to work with both the detail of her smaller pieces whilst creating an impact when the viewer first sees the work.

White has previously exhibited in Melbourne, and more recently with Libby Edwards Galleries in Sydney. In October 2006 her work was featured in Real Living Magazine.
